Hi, it's Tual!

I work as a literary translator and editor, and I also offer personalized French tutoring services.

I earned my BA in Teaching French as a Second or Foreign Language from Hacettepe University, graduating Salutatorian with honors.

I’ve always been fascinated by language, not just how it is used but how it is experienced. While studying to become a teacher, I didn’t focus only on education courses. I also explored literature, art, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and politics. Teaching has taught me to listen carefully and adapt to different voices. These same skills guide my work as a literary translator and editor, where attention, care, and connection shape every text I work on.

About Me

I love reading, editing, translating, teaching, and romanticizing my simple life. I'm a 31-year-old professional based in Istanbul. I manage my UK-based company, Tual Editorial Services LTD, remotely. I'm also one of the members of the Scientific and Technical Committee of ÇEVBİR (Turkish Literary Translators’ Trade Union).

Editorial Services

I provide copyediting and proofreading services for fiction books originally written in American English. All editorial work follows The Chicago Manual of Style.

I also offer translation revision services for fiction books:

French Tutoring

I also offer language tutoring services. My sessions are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that means improving reading comprehension, refining written expression, or developing confidence through discussion. Drawing on my experience as a translator, editor, and teacher, I approach language as a living system shaped by culture, style, and context.
